About the Role:

Maverick Power is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to support the HR team in delivering a strong employee experience and helping the business grow with speed, accuracy, and teamwork. This internship offers hands-on exposure to core HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, HR administration, and special projects.

This role is ideal for a student or early-career professional who wants practical HR experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruiting activities, including scheduling interviews, reviewing resumes, and coordinating candidate communications
  • Support onboarding for new hires, including preparing materials, tracking pre-employment steps, and helping ensure a positive first-day experience
  • Maintain and update employee records, HR files, and data in HR systems with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Help prepare reports, presentations, and HR metrics as needed
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and culture-building activities
  • Assist with training coordination, meeting logistics, and internal communications
  • Partner with the HR team on special projects related to talent, compliance, process improvement, and organizational growth
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th-year undergraduate student in an accredited university program pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship, campus leadership, or office experience
  • Familiarity with HR principles, employment practices, or applicant tracking systems
  • Interest in recruiting, employee experience, and organizational development

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.

Work Environment:
May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
