About the Role:

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Mechanical Drawing Checker with expertise in SOLIDWORKS to support our engineering team. This role will be responsible for reviewing part and assembly drawings against established company standards and checklists to ensure accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability prior to release. You will play a critical role in design and drawing quality control by identifying discrepancies, marking redlines, validating Bills of Materials (BOMs), and ensuring proper ERP alignment. You will work closely with engineers and ERP team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review part drawings and assembly drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company drafting standards.
  • Compare drawings based on ASME Y14.5 and Y14.100 standards, as well as an internally defined checklist.
  • Redline drawings clearly and accurately to communicate required corrections or improvements to engineers or mechanical designers.
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, callouts, materials, hardware, and revision levels.
  • Cross-check Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy, structure, and alignment with drawings.
  • Ensure part numbers, descriptions, and revisions are correctly entered and maintained within the ERP system.
  • Validate that drawing packages are complete before release to manufacturing.
  • Support continuous improvement of drawing standards and checking procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in drafting, drawing review, manufacturing documentation, or related technical role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in BOM management in ERP experience in Epicor.
  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting & Design, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS (drawings, sheet metal, weldments, Design Checker).
  • Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault Management.
  • Proficiency in MSOffice.
  • Experience managing and validating Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, GD&T fundamentals, and drafting standards.
  • Working knowledge of Epicor and part/revision control processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Prolonged periods standing on the manufacturing floor and sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must have vision correctable to 20/20 and be able to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, boots, gloves, etc.).

May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
