About the Role:

The Manufacturing Wiring Trainer is responsible for training and developing production employees on electrical wiring, assembly methods, schematic interpretation, and safe work practices used in switchgear manufacturing. This role provides hands-on instruction to new and existing employees to ensure wiring is completed safely, accurately, and according to engineering, quality, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Train employees on electrical wiring, cable routing, component installation, termination, and assembly techniques.
  • Teach employees how to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Provide hands-on training for proper use of wiring tools, equipment, materials, and testing devices.
  • Ensure employees understand workmanship, quality, and engineering requirements for switchgear wiring.
  • Evaluate employee competency through hands-on assessments, observations, and knowledge checks.
  • Identify skill gaps and provide coaching, refresher training, and additional instruction as needed.
  • Reinforce electrical safety, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain accurate training records, competency assessments, and employee training documentation.
  • Assist with developing and updating training materials, work instructions, visual aids, and standardized training processes.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Training leadership to address wiring-related training needs.
  • Support new hire onboarding and cross-training initiatives for manufacturing employees.
  • Promote standardized work, quality workmanship, 5S, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other job-related duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or electrical training preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of electrical wiring, electrical assembly, switchgear, panel building, or related manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical wiring methods, components, tools, and assembly practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with low- and/or medium-voltage switchgear or power distribution equipment strongly preferred.
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate technical processes and provide hands-on instruction.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees of varying skill and experience levels.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to maintain training documentation and records.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at time.
  • Prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and work at heights for extended periods.
  • Duties are performed in a loud production setting subject to extreme temperatures. Some duties may be required to be performed outside.

Work Environment:
May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
